Nude Beach Map. Visited 2023
This is one of our favourite nude beaches in Greece. It’s quiet, yet friendly and welcoming. The taverna staff, who also manage the beach loungers and tables, are incredibly affable and communicate well in English.

Although Filaki Beach is affiliated with the nearby Vritomartis Naturist Resort, it’s open to the public. It’s well-known in the community, and its naturist ethos is respected by all. The beach itself is naturally beautiful, with calm, warm, and clear water. However, it is rocky, so we recommend water shoes, though they’re not mandatory.
The beach is quite large, offering loungers for rent. Nearby, there’s a cliff face that provides some shade and a more secluded spot. The shoreline also features large rocks, offering a unique place to sit. Almost everyone here is from the nearby resort and you won’t see any boats visit the beach like other nearby locations. So it feels more exclusive and private.
The adjacent Vritomartis Resort is a fantastic place to stay, offering a clean and secure hotel experience with friendly staff and engaging activities, including boat excursions! The beach taverna offers an array of local dishes and drinks. We particularly recommend the tzatziki and the moussaka. Alpha beer, too, is readily available and highly refreshing on a hot Cretan day! They will bring it to wherever you are sitting on the beach if you wish.

Getting There
Those staying at the Vrtiomartis resort will have a shuttle available to them. It runs in the mornings and later in the afternoon. It is walkable in about 20 minutes from the resort but bring water and wear a hat as it is very hot! There is a parking lot at the taverna which is on the beach.
By Car: The beach is a quick 10minute drive outside of Sfakia. Turnoff to Vritomartis Resort but instead of going right, take the turnoff to the left and keep following the road to the left. Beware the road is skinny and the mini bus that makes regular trips to the resort can be quite wide.
