It’s tricky.
The legality of nudity in public places can be a bit of a gray area and depends on your location. While technically it may be illegal in some places, it’s widely accepted in others, such as certain parts of the US and Australia. The reviews we provide are of well-known and established nude locations where it’s highly unlikely you’ll encounter any issues. Of course, we can’t cover every single location, but we’re doing our best to expand our coverage!
To get a better idea of the laws regarding nudity in different parts of the world, check out our guide below. Keep in mind that the situation also plays a role – a remote and private island in the middle of the ocean is vastly different from a crowded beach in Bali or Fiji, where public nudity is frowned upon.
This is a map of known nudity laws and NOT the Nude Beach Map – to find nude places worldwide head to our main search page.

Legal and social attitudes toward nudity can change faster than a beach forecast. What’s accepted today might be frowned upon tomorrow.
We do our best to keep this map up to date, but we recommend double-checking local laws and norms before stripping down. After all, staying informed is the best way to keep your clothes—or not!
