Our Visit

I visited one of the most popular nude beaches in Italy, Lido di Dante, on a sunny Friday, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing beach days I’ve had in a long time. The bonus? Parking was free that day, which is always a nice surprise. After parking near the seaside development, I started the 500-meter walk to the naturist section of the beach. The stroll along the shore felt even shorter than expected, thanks to the stunning views of the Adriatic and the beautiful pine forest lining the beach. It was a perfect start to the day. As a solo female traveler, I initially set up in the busier section of the naturist beach, where there were plenty of people around but still enough space to feel comfortable. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, with everyone keeping to themselves. I noticed a few nudist families, particularly from Germany, which made the beach feel even safer and more welcoming. There was a good mix of people, and despite hearing rumors from locals about the occasional voyeur in the bushes, I didn’t encounter anything of the sort. Everyone seemed to be there for the right reasons—just to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea in a laid-back environment. As the day progressed, I decided to take a walk further down the beach past The Camping Classe Village FKK towards the mouth of the river Bevano. The walk was peaceful, and the further I went, the quieter and more serene the beach became. The area near the river was even more beautiful and secluded, with fewer people around, making it the perfect spot to unwind and take in the natural surroundings. The pine forest behind the beach added to the sense of being in a wild, untouched place, reminiscent of the nude beaches in Bulgaria that I’ve visited. Throughout the day, drink sellers made their way up and down the beach, offering cold beers at about double the price you’d pay in town. While the prices were steep, I appreciated the convenience of not having to leave my spot on the beach. Plus, there’s something about enjoying a cold drink in the sun that makes it worth the extra cost. The water was clean and refreshing, ideal for cooling off after basking in the sun. Overall, I highly recommend Lido di Dante for anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful naturist beach experience. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, this beach offers something for everyone. I’m already planning to return on a busier weekend to see how the vibe changes, but if my Friday visit was anything to go by, I’m sure it will be just as enjoyable. Questions? Comments? Getting There
Lido di Dante is a popular naturist beach located south of Ravenna on the Adriatic coast. The beach is backed by a beautiful pine forest, offering a serene and somewhat secluded atmosphere. The naturist area starts about 500 meters south of the main beach, so you’ll need to walk along the shoreline to reach it. Here’s how to get there:
By Car: From Ravenna, head south on the SP101 and follow the signs to Lido di Dante. Parking is available near the seaside development, but it can fill up quickly on busy days. After parking, head to the beach and turn right, following the shoreline. The naturist section is a short 10-15 minute walk away.
By Public Transport: If you’re traveling from Ravenna without a car, take bus number 4 from the train station or other stops in the city towards Lido di Dante. Be sure to check that the bus you board has "Lido di Dante" as its terminus. Once you arrive at the bus stop, walk to the beach, turn right, and continue along the shore for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the naturist area.
Whether you’re arriving by car or public transport, the walk to the naturist section is pretty easy and offers lovely coastal views along the way.
